In 2001, Dean Brown was rising quickly in the corporate world, when he became intrigued with the mortgage industry. “I was growing weary with the insurance industry and saw several colleagues having success in the mortgage industry. At the time I had a neighbor who was a mortgage broker and he asked me several times to join his team. I finally decided to make the leap, got my license and it ended up being a perfect fit.”
Dean serves all of San Diego but primarily along the I-15 corridor. He recently brought his talents to C2 Financial, where he is a mortgage advisor. Although Dean excels in all types of loans, he has recently started specializing in first-time home buyers and clients who are self-employed or have issues with credit and can offer them loan programs that allow for little or no down payment.
Through his 21 years in the business, Dean has established strong relationships with local Realtors®. Key to his success building those relationships has been his devotion to providing unsurpassed levels of customer service, that offer his clients exceptional communication and a reputation for closing on time. “I do a lot of work on the front end of the transaction. I like to stay ahead of any bumps that I might see potentially coming up in the process and get things resolved beforehand. I’m a straight shooter so I give my clients all the relevant info they need to make the right decisions. Part of working hard for my clients and Realtors® is getting the big picture of what they want right away, so I ask a lot of questions others don’t ask. I’m not about commissions, I’m all about doing the right thing for my clients. I keep clear and open communication going throughout the entire transaction, making sure all parties are constantly updated. This way of doing things has been so successful, a lot of times the listing agents end up becoming valued referral partners.”
Dean considers his primary role to help his borrowers integrate the mortgage loans they select into their long and short-term financial and investment goals, while also meeting their payment, equity, and cash flow objectives. So, this upfront communication has been instrumental in achieving those goals.
Dean is actively involved in his community, he supports the local schools and youth sports. He is also involved with a local organization in Rancho Bernardo that offers college scholarships to high school students.

We were referred to him through a friend, and as we began the process of purchasing a new home, he helped us get set up months before we were really ready to purchase. Dean say down with us (in person- which I really appreciated) and walked through what we hoped for and what our financial picture looked like at that time. We were grateful for that first meeting and there was never any pressure to move forward, which I was really worried about. 4 months later, we were ready to move forward when we unexpectedly found our dream home. We made sure our information was kept up to date, but ANY time we had a question, or wanted to look at what a different loan amount would look like, he was there to answer questions. I love a company that I am able to get a hold of the person handling my file versus someone else in the office. Ashlee and Grant from his team were also fantastic when we got to the point of finalizing the loan. They were also always available to answer questions and walk us through documents we were unfamiliar with. Thank you so much Dean and team! 5 stars!!!

We used him for our first home purchase in 2017 and he was great and explaining everything to a couple of newbies. through the entire process there was no party nearly as responsive and clear as Dean (not realtor, escrow, etc.), that was extremely helpful. In 2021 we found a house on a Saturday afternoon we were interested in and i emailed Dean to run some numbers for me, he got back to me with all the numbers in less than an hour. Even our realtor and escrow mentioned how impressed they were with our lender Dean. I have recommended and he has assisted my parents and my sister with new home loans and refinances. I wouldnt look anywhere else, Dean is hands down the best guy to work with in his field.
